Board Readiness for the Sustainable Development Goals
Thousands of companies and investors are adopting SDGs but many are finding it difficult to build a comprehensive, holistic strategy around them. Most companies understand SDGs risks such as climate change, inequality, poverty, or access to water, but few have the tools to understand how these risks will affect their organizations or investment portfolios specifically. TCR works directly with corporate boards to help them understand the fiduciary risks the SDGs can help identify and manage, and helps these boards plan for the future.
Investment Advisory - A Systems-Based Approach to Impact Investment
Impact investors around the world are adopting the SDGs but we believe traditional impact investment models are insufficient to help investors make the right decisions in this new paradigm. Many funds opt for simplicity at the expense of transparency, offering a limited perspective on investment and introducing portfolio risk without the identification of gaps and opportunities of new investment. Most importantly, using a limited impact investment model can work against an impact fund’s mission where investment in one impact area can negatively affect other areas, resulting in an unintentional negative impacts. Our unique systems-based approach to impact investment is used throughout the world to maintain the simplicity that investors require but identifies the full set of impacts, risks, and opportunities available. Our approach builds on existing frameworks and standards to improve the performance of impact funds and traditional finance initiatives.
Global Investment Partnership for Indigenous Communities
The Global Investment Partnership for Indigenous Communities (GIPIC) seeks to build more effective climate, energy, and infrastructure projects and increase outcomes for the world’s indigenous communities. The GIPIC does this by diversifying new and existing projects; bringing new investors to the table; and identifying more measurable and achievable outcomes for the communities impacted by these projects using internationally recognized methodologies supported by the United Nations, World Bank, and others.
The GIPIC is based on the South Pacific Climate & Development Investment Partnership, a set of investment programs developed by TCR Innovations and its partners to assist indigenous communities and economic development across the South Pacific region to diversify investment and create better outcomes in climate projects.
Sustainable Technology & Big Data
One of the most challenging aspects of sustainability issues is the use of data and technology. This is a market segment that has an immense amount of data, but very few integrated technologies that make business decision-making easier. Your business can spend a great deal of time and resources trying to navigate the right sustainable technologies and strategies. Several of our CEOs have run sustainable technology companies all over the world, and can help you navigate this complex ecosystem of technologies.
